The Lusaka Townships Roads Project is set for completion by June next year, with a total investment exceeding 1.8 billion Kwacha.
Local Government and Rural Development Minister, Gift Sialubalo, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far.
Speaking during a tour of the project sites in Lusaka, Mr. Sialubalo stated that the over 40-kilometer road infrastructure initiative will be closely monitored to ensure timely delivery and high-quality work.
He assured that the Ministry will prioritize timely payments to contractors and ensure resources are readily available to avoid delays in implementation.
Meanwhile, Local Government Ministry Rural Development Director, Fanizani Phiri, revealed plans to expand a section of the Great East Road, from Munali to the road leading to the airport, including the construction of a flyover bridge.
Mr. Phiri emphasized that the move is aimed at easing traffic congestion and enhancing road efficiency for Lusaka residents and commuters.
