Описание: The hymn tune "Puer nobis nascitur" means "A child is born to us" but it is used for texts in all church seasons. Advent and Christmas, of course, are the most appropriate though, and this text dates all the way back to St. Ambrose (probably not, but so says tradition). The arrangement is a conflation of two of the great directors of the King's College choir: Sir David Willcocks and Sir Stephen Cleobury since doing just one with so many verses gets a little old. As usual, Willcocks won out on the descant verse though, which is rhythmically displaced and actually a little jarring for Anglican church music! Text is in the video for those who would like to sing along.
