In Greek mythology, Aquarius is associated with Ganymede, a beautiful young prince whom Zeus, the king of the gods, fell in love with. Zeus transformed himself into an eagle and abducted Ganymede, taking him to Mount Olympus to serve as the cup bearer to the gods.
The main feature of the Aquarius constellation is a distinct pattern of stars that resembles a water jar or a figure pouring water. This pattern is known as "The Water Bearer." The brightest star in Aquarius is called Sadalsuud (also known as Beta Aquarii), which is a yellow supergiant located about 540 light-years away from Earth.
Aquarius is also known for being the radiant point of the annual meteor shower called the Eta Aquariids. This meteor shower occurs in late April and early May, and it is associated with Halley's Comet.
The constellation Aquarius is part of the zodiac and represents the eleventh astrological sign, which corresponds to individuals born between January 20 and February 18.
