Описание: Crystal engineering, which is the logical design of functional organic solids using intermolecular interactions, has now extended its domain to chemical engineering, manufacture and processing of pharmaceutical solids. Diverse issues such as continuous flow processes, tableting and formulation continue to be of keen interest.

Especially important are pharmaceutical cocrystals, which are solids that contain more than one, typically two, distinct compounds within the same solid form and also in stoichiometric proportion. In this talk I highlight two important properties of drug solid forms that can be improved with cocrystal formation, namely solubility and permeability.
