Описание: When it comes to jazz composition, no country outside the United States comes close to England. This Saturday, I'm crossing the Atlantic with a solo piano program celebrating the remarkable jazz legacy that came out of London and beyond.
Sure, other countries gave us unforgettable standards—France brought us "La Vie en Rose," Belgium gave us Django Reinhardt's "Django's Castle" and "Minor Swing," Toots Thielemans' "Bluesette," Russia contributed the Gypsy Roma classic "Dark Eyes," and Mexico gave us "Bésame Mucho." But England? England produced an extraordinary catalog.
Ray Noble alone composed a string of masterpieces that became cornerstones of the jazz repertoire: "Cherokee," "The Very Thought of You," "I Hadn't Anyone Till You," "The Touch of Your Lips," and more. Pianist Billy Reid contributed two absolute gems, "I'll Close My Eyes" and "The Gypsy." And England didn't just send us great songs—it sent us world-class players like George Shearing, Victor Feldman, and Ronnie Scott.

Larry has performed, toured, and recorded with jazz legends including Dexter Gordon, Philly Joe Jones, Jon Hendricks, Mel Tormé, Tony Bennett, Bobby Hutcherson, Bobby McFerrin, and more. His 1980 LP Blue Balkan, featuring Bobby Hutcherson, established him as a pioneer—the first to fuse Balkan ethnic music with American jazz.
In 2024, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from his former country of Yugoslavia at the Nišville Jazz Festival in Serbia. 🏆

He has performed at New York's top venues, including the Village Vanguard (with Charles McPherson, Billy Higgins, Curtis Fuller), Bradley's (with Red Mitchell), and Lincoln Center's Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola with his own quartet.
His wide-ranging solo piano repertoire includes Swinging Bebop, Contemporary Jazz, Rare Standards, Balkan Ethnic, Latin/Brazilian, Flamenco Jazz, Blues/Boogaloo & more.
