Listen, something absolutely wild just went down with Atlas, and if you've been keeping up with this story, you need to hear what happened on October 29th. This thing just passed its closest point to the Sun, and the data coming back is making scientists scratch their heads harder than ever before. We're looking at movement that doesn't match gravity alone, weird changes in where it should be versus where it actually is, and even Avi Lobe from Harvard is paying serious attention now. When Atlas got closest to the Sun on October 29th, the ALMA telescope spotted something that raised immediate red flags. The object wasn't where calculations said it should be. It was off by four arcseconds. Now, you might think that sounds tiny, but in space terms, that's actually huge. What this tells us is that something other than the Sun's gravity is pushing or pulling on Atlas. And here's the thing, normal comets don't behave like this. On top of that, multiple solar observatories including SOHO and others caught Atlas doing something we've never witnessed before.
