In Carolina Caroline, Rehmeier paints a new all-American portrait, swapping punk rock for crooning country, in a star-crossed love story that races across the South.

In a small West Texas town, Caroline Daniels (Weaving) dutifully looks after her single father, played by Jon Gries (The White Lotus), and dreams of escaping her humdrum life. In a chance encounter with a charming con man (Gallner), an opportunity presents itself, and Caroline falls headlong into a Bonnie and Clyde-esque whirlwind as their explosive tryst turns her into a bona fide criminal icon.

At the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, Rehmeier, Gallner, and Weaving sat down with Perri Nemiroff at Cassius on King Street to discuss their experience making the film.
