Field Strip, Disassembly, cleaning, lubrication, and reassembly of Glock 17 and most other Glock pistols.

Step-by-step manufacturer's instructions. Works for Gen 3, Gen 4, etc. Demonstrated using a Glock 17 Gen 5.

Step 1. Unload the Glock 17 and double-check that it is UNLOADED. Remove all live ammo from the area.
Step 2. Point the muzzle in a safe direction and press the trigger.
Step 3. Wrap your right hand around the rear of the gun, as shown in the video, and move the slide slightly to the rear.
Step 4. While holding the slide slightly to the rear, use your left thumb and forefinger to pull down both sides of the takedown lever.
Step 5. While holding the takedown lever down, nudge the slide forward with your right hand. It will now slide off the front of the frame.
Step 6. Remove the recoil spring, guide rod, and barrel from the slide.
