Available in 12", 15" and 18" chuck sizes, the machine has a powerful 30-hp, 3,000-rpm integrated spindle/motor headstock that minimizes vibration and generates up to 596 ft-lbs of torque. The headstock also provides accurate C-axis positioning in 0.0001-degree increments.

In addition to its heavy-duty turning capabilities, the machine’s 4,000-rpm rotary tool spindle brings up to 70.4 ft-lbs of torque to drilling, milling and tapping operations, while the bolt-on drum turret offers rapid tool indexing for 12 tools.

Axis travels on the MEGA TURN 500M are 13.5" in X and 20.5" in Z. The axes incorporate the Mazak MX Hybrid Roller Guide System to achieve high levels of durability and reliability that result in long-term accuracy. The system increases vibration damping, handles high load capacities and eliminates tramp oil in the coolant by utilizing a greener grease-based lubrication system.
