so i kid you not, the day after I went to visit the famous rám szakadék there was literally a rockslide collapse and now it is closed. Check out this excerpts from the news report: "The human load due to the constantly increasing number of visitors, the long drought periods due to climate change and the alternation of rains with extremely high amounts of precipitation also have a negative effect on the stability of the stone walls of the Rám ravine. Therefore, after the current collapse, the specialists of the Pilisi park forest decided that the visitors for the sake of its safety, the site is temporarily closed in its entirety until full-scale geological and static tests are carried out and evaluated ."

thank god i got there in time! and mad props to dömös, one of the pearls of the Dunakanyar. Even though I've lived here now for almost three years, I had yet to venture out to the gorgeous Hungarian waterfall canyon known as ram szakadék. Very greatful that I did considering what transpired!!! Hopefully they can open up again soon.
