Discover how steel shaped Isaac Newton Academy in Ilford, a £30 million secondary school designed for 1,250 pupils specialising in maths and music. Structural steel enabled long spans, fast construction and the striking double-height “sports beam” that projects 55.8m beyond the main building to maximise space on a tight urban site.
Designed by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and delivered by Skanska, William Hare, and the London Borough of Redbridge, the project combines sustainability, efficiency and design innovation to create an inspiring learning environment.
