As dharma practitioners, we experience many ups and downs in life, and integrating all circumstances into our practice is essential for our spiritual growth. Often, adverse circumstances can result in swift progress if we take them on the path, or they can be serious obstacles if not. Good fortune can also be the catalyst for spiritual accomplishment if we utilize it on the path, or possibly the cause of laziness, distraction, and pride if we do not.
For our final One Community gathering of 2025, we welcomed our spiritual director and one of the holders of the Namchak Lineage, Gochen Tulku Sangak Rinpoche (calling in from the Turquoise Leaf Nunnery in Nepal!), to reflect on our experiences of suffering and happiness and explore how to integrate these inevitable aspects into our path. In this integration, we can transform all circumstances in our lives into opportunities for spiritual growth. We aspire to continue our spiritual growth and transformation, and we wish the same for you.
About Gochen Tulku Sangak Rinpoche
Tulku Sangak Rinpoche is the world lineage holder of the Namchak lineage and the spiritual director of Namchak Retreat Ranch and Ewam International Centers worldwide. An outstanding meditation master and scholar, he is a primary lineage holder of the Namchak lineage and holds other widely practiced Tibetan lineages. Rinpoche is also an expert stupa builder. He established the Turquoise Leaf Nunnery, a Nepalese convent where over 50 nuns reside and practice. After establishing the first Ewam in the U.S., the center’s Dharma activity prospered worldwide, including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bhutan, India, and other places.
About One Community
Each month, we come together for an evening of learning and discussion to deepen our understanding of the dharma and our connection with sangha. Led by a Namchak teacher, thought leader, or staff member, each gathering revolves around a specific topic and lasts roughly 90 minutes.
The session begins with a dharma talk and is followed by a Q&A with the teacher.
