East London Youth Dance Company presents 'Friendship', a story about two friends who drift apart but later rediscover the strength of their friendship.
Under the Artistic Direction of Lead Artist Cherilyn Albert and Assistant Artist Mary Vassilakis and with inspiration from special Guest Artists Bismark Anobah (Locking) and Olu Alatise (Afro-Azonto) the company came together weekly to explore choreographic devices, learn how to make dance for screen and create the content for this film.
With a focus on the themes of friendship, partnership & collaboration the company co-designed every aspect of the short film, including the storyline, choreography, music, costumes and filming location.
For the final piece they teamed up the Joe Priest from Monkey Flip Media who filmed and edited the final film.
East London Youth Dance Company is an East London Dance programme funded by The Prudence Trust.
