Hey everyone, welcome back to my blog! Today I'm going to share with you my experience of having lunch at Las Caracolas, a seafood restaurant in the Occidental Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic. I hope you enjoy this POV (point of view) style post and get a taste of the amazing food and scenery that this place has to offer.
I arrived at the resort around noon, after a short drive from the airport. The resort is located on the beautiful Bavaro Beach, one of the most popular and stunning beaches in Punta Cana. The resort has a lot of amenities and activities for guests, such as pools, spa, golf, tennis, and of course, access to the beach. But I was hungry and eager to try some local cuisine, so I headed straight to Las Caracolas, which is one of the four restaurants in the resort.
Las Caracolas is a buffet-style restaurant that specializes in seafood and Dominican dishes. It has a spacious and airy dining area, with a large terrace overlooking the beach and the ocean. The atmosphere is very relaxed and casual, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal with friends or family. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they make sure that you have everything you need.
The buffet has a wide variety of options, from salads and soups to grilled meats and pasta. But of course, I was most interested in the seafood section, which had an impressive display of fresh fish, shrimp, lobster, crab, octopus, mussels, clams, and more. You can choose whatever you like and have it cooked to your liking by the chefs at the live stations. They also have a selection of sauces and condiments to go with your seafood.
I decided to go for a plate of grilled lobster with garlic butter sauce, accompanied by some rice and beans, plantains, and coleslaw. I also got a glass of fresh pineapple juice to drink. The lobster was succulent and flavorful, and the sauce was rich and buttery. The rice and beans were hearty and satisfying, and the plantains were sweet and soft. The coleslaw added some crunch and freshness to the dish. It was a delicious and satisfying meal that filled me up without making me feel too heavy.
I enjoyed my lunch while admiring the view of the beach and the ocean. The sun was shining brightly, the breeze was gentle, and the waves were soothing. I felt so relaxed and happy that I didn't want to leave. But I also wanted to explore more of the resort and the beach, so I decided to save some room for dessert later.
Las Caracolas is definitely one of the best places to eat in Punta Cana if you love seafood and Dominican food. It's also a great place to enjoy the scenery and the ambiance of the resort. I highly recommend it if you ever visit Occidental Punta Cana or Punta Cana in general. You won't regret it!
