Описание: Hello and welcome to another episode of 'Where The East Begins'!

In this episode we're exploring the city of Bucharest, the capital of Romania. I have visited Bucharest twice before and always thought it was an ok city, nothing too amazing.

However, I haven't explored much of Romania, so that's one thing I definitely wanted to do. So, I took an 11-hour train from Sofia to Bucharest. Now you might think "that doesn't fun", it actually wasn't that bad. I had the compartment to myself for most of the time though.

Upon arrival I met with a guy named Andras through Instagram. We went and grabbed some food and spoke about the region. Is Romania really Balkan? Let me know!

In this episode you'll see me roam through Bucharest. First I will visit the palace of Romania's former communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu. Supposedly the heaviest building in the world.

And then you'll some evening shots of Bucharest, which in sunlight, looks quite nice! That's why it's often called "The Paris of the East".

Anyways, I had a great time on my first day in Bucharest! I stayed for 3 nights, so next video will also be about Bucharest. Then you'll see me explore more of the city in an old communist car and experience the Bucharest Light Festival (I had not idea that was going on at the time, just pure luck I guess).
