Day hike on our quest to complete the AT through Pennsylvania. We started at PA Rt 645 (Geary Wolfe Rd and headed NOBO to the SGL 110 parking lot.
It was a 13.5 mile hike. We stopped and went down most of the way at Showers 500 steps. This was very steep and difficult due to loose gravel. We stopped for lunch at the Hertlein Camsite. There was a big problem with litter here...it's a shame people do this! It is still a beautiful place though. We stopped by the highest point in Berks County after that, this was a .1 detour so we though we might as well see it! Overall a great day and very nice section although it is very rocky most of the way so watch your step.
