Over the past few days we have been working on a special project here at Chemical Guys-Smart University inside our 'Detailing Arena'. A long time client of ours personally asked us to prepare his brand new vehicle he had just purchased for an event he was planning to attend. The vehicle our client had just purchased was a 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost in a beautiful color called diamond black metallic. The client was very concerned about the car because it was only 3 weeks old with only 500 miles on the clock, yet the entire vehicle was covered in light wash marring and holograms caused by an inexperienced detailer using a wool pad on this brand new Ghost.

After a few words with the client and a couple small test spots on the vehicle, I decided to correct the paint using the new V36 Optical Cut Polish teamed with a green Hex Logic pad on a Flex 3403 and a Porter Cable 7424XP. The V36 has just enough cut to where I was able to remove all the wash marring and holograms with only one pass per panel while still being able to finish down flawlessly, ready to be topped with a wax or sealant.

Being able to fully correct a car with one pad and one product makes paint correction so much faster and easier for the operator. On the softer jet black B-pillars, I was able to use the V38 Optical Final Polish with a black Hex Logic pad to achieve a flawless, defect-free surface that simply looked amazing.

For me, the best part of V36 and V38 was how easy they are to work with for the user. The optical grade polishes have a very long work time so I can keep working the polish for perfect correction of the paint surface.
