The M1 Motorway runs for 200 miles (321km) from London to Yorkshire, connecting the cities of St Albans, Milton Keynes, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham, Sheffield, Wakefield and Leeds. The section from St Albans to Junction 18 was the first inter-urban motorway to open in the UK in 1959. Much of this section has been widened but still retains many of its original distinctive Owen Williams designed bridges.
This video shows a southbound journey along the M1, from Junction 15 at Grange Park with the A45 south of Northampton to Junction 14 for the A509 at Milton Keynes.
