It’s that time of year! It’s time for the Dawn Staley Invitational at Bon Secours Wellness Arena (aka CLA North, CLA West, or CLA Upstate) in Greenville, SC… I was told some people get triggered by the location of this thing—I don’t mind it.

Due to the almighty coin flip (despite other tiebreaker scenarios surely being left on the table that could’ve been used instead), the Gamecocks are the number one seed in this tournament again! Carolina is still looking to do some damage, however, with current projections having SC as the first 2 seed in the NCAA tournament later this month (despite a #1 SOS and #2 NET). Texas, meanwhile, is AP #1 and currently projected as the first OVERALL seed due to beating US! Gotta love teams beating us and getting all the praise but nothing in return when we… literally beat them by 17 earlier this year.

Prior to an awaiting rematch with Vic Schaefer and Texas in the finals, however, we must get through the firepower that Vanderbilt and Oklahoma are packing in the quarter and semifinals! …And maybe a couple singalongs here and there. Yeah we all had a blast in Greenville! Way more fun than we would’ve had anywhere else, including San Antionio 😉
