Operation Hormuz Begins: US–Iran Naval Clash Pushes Global Economy Toward Crisis

Описание: The Persian Gulf has effectively turned into a battlefield. On one side stands U.S. pressure, and on the other, Iran’s firm resistance. Amid rising tensions between the two powers, the global economy is now heading toward uncertainty. But what is the real story?

After nearly two months of deadlock, Washington has now entered direct confrontation. Under orders from U.S. President Donald Trump, “Operation Hormuz” has begun. U.S. warships are attempting to break Iran’s blockade and reopen routes for commercial shipping. The White House claims this is only the beginning.

However, strong warnings are coming from Tehran. The head of U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), Admiral Brad Cooper, made a striking claim, stating that the U.S. Navy has destroyed six Iranian combat boats. The Pentagon also claims that drones and missiles targeting U.S. warships were intercepted mid-air.

Iran has rejected these claims entirely. In an interview with state broadcaster IRIB, a senior Iranian military official stated firmly that no Iranian boats had been destroyed. He called the U.S. claims “false propaganda” and part of a psychological war.

Iran has clearly warned that no vessel can pass through the Strait of Hormuz without its permission. Tehran cautioned that any U.S. or commercial ship attempting to enter without coordination would face severe consequences. Iran’s navy, they say, is ready to take “swift and decisive action.”

Since the conflict began in late February, around 3,000 ships and 20,000 sailors are now stranded at sea. With oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz disrupted, global oil prices have surged dramatically. Inflation is rising, putting pressure on ordinary people worldwide, as uncertainty grows.

Tensions escalated further after reports of drone and missile attacks on the United Arab Emirates. Abu Dhabi claims it intercepted several missiles, but at least one drone struck an oil facility. Iran has strongly denied any involvement, insisting it has no plans to attack neighboring countries.

For nearly two months, thousands of sailors have been stuck amid turbulent waters, with growing fear and uncertainty. In this standoff between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, it is ordinary working people who are paying the price. How long this maritime crisis will continue remains unclear, with no concrete solution in sight.
