Prime Minister Narendra Modi today asked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to refrain from making unnecessary comments on movies as they put the party's development agenda on the back burner, sources said.
The PM made the comment while addressing the party workers on the second and final day of BJP's National Executive Meeting in Delhi today. PM Modi said that while everyone in the party works hard, some people make some comments on a movie and the entire narrative changes. PM's diktat to the BJP workers came amid growing calls to ban Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer 'Pathaan', which faced ire from several BJP leaders including Narottam Mishra and Ram Kadam.
