In this trip, we are exploring a hidden wildlife destination and stay at a small village called Kokode, 30 km distance from Kotagiri and 60 km distance from Ootty.

We stayed at a 100 years old plantation Benglaw in middle of a Coffee plantation. Elephants and Indian Wild Gaurs are regular sightings within the property itself. We spotted Great Indian Horn Bills, Elephants, Gaurs, Malabar Gaint Squirrels, Barking Deers, Monkeys from the stay itself. Truly, it is an unexplored wildlife destination unknow to the public. I don’t know is there any other stay in South India can spot these animals from the property itself.

Currently, this property is handled by Malayali management and it is open to the public offering at an affordable rate of Rs. 2000 per head for night stay which includes two time meals. Considering this a remote place, Food and stay offered here are of top class.

Note:
Don’t roam around the property without the local guide from the property since high density of wild animals presence in the Estate.
There are multiple banyan trees within the property where we spotted Great Indian Horn bills and they are regular visitors there. Its a must visit place for wildlife photographers.
Only BSNL network available there. Soon, resort will provide free Wifi , but not available now.
Road condition is a little bit bad for last four kilo meters due to road construction, confirm it during your booking please.
