Описание: Balo or Mbalo Kanteh AKA Abubacarr Kanteh is a Gambian and also an ex-fighter for Charles Taylor's NPFL rebel faction in Liberia. How a Gambian got recruited and fighting along side Taylor is a fascinating story in itself. But for the purpose of his appearance before the TRRC in Gambia, he was trying to explain the rational of his attack along with his fellow Gambian co-fighters of Charles Taylor on The Gambia in 1996. In 1996, Balo and 7 of his Gambian former rebels in Liberia sneaked into the Gambia and attacked the second largest military camp in Gambia and killed 8 Gambian soldiers. He was later captured by Jammeh forces and tortured severely. He was giving his version of events regarding the torture he endured under captivity at the NIA in Banjul. He was testifying live at the TRRC on December 9th, 2020.
