The Knee Drop with Feet Apart is a simple and effective mobility exercise we use at Good Vibes Physio to improve hip rotation, reduce lower back stiffness, and restore comfortable movement through the pelvis and spine.
By keeping the feet apart, this variation targets the hips more and helps reduce unwanted twisting through the lower back.
We use this exercise in physio and mobility programs to help people:
✅ Improve hip rotation mobility
✅ Reduce lower back and pelvic stiffness
✅ Improve comfort with sitting, bending, and daily movement
✅ Gently restore movement without forcing stretches
How to do it:
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet wider than hip-width.
Slowly let both knees drop to one side while keeping your shoulders relaxed on the floor.
Return to the centre and repeat on the other side.
Slow and relaxed. Breathe as you move.
