Sunday on the Stairs: Cincinnati Pops Orchestra Poptet

Описание: Every final Sunday of the month at 2pm, the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library (CHPL) Downtown Main Library hosts a live performance from a local artist featured on the Social Stairs. These local artists record a performance of their work and share the stories of their musical careers with the CHPL Story Center through oral history interviews.

The CSO’s Poptet performed a special concert, hosted by the Pops conductor John Morris Russell, on June 29, 2025. The group featured Julie Spangler on piano, Roger Klug on guitar, Rick Vizachero on bass, and Marc Wolfley on drums. A standout in the show was the Poptet’s sizzling take of the folk song “Oh! Susanna,” with an arrangement by Spangler. This classic American original was composed in Cincinnati by Stephen Foster in the late 1840s when he was working for his brother’s steamboat company.
