Описание: Here is a video of my 'Solo' theatre performance in which I attempted to take an audience hostage and force them onto the stage in order to become part of a bank robbery scene. Distributing roles on unexpected audience members and taking them out of the comfort of their seats.Unfortunately the video does not capture the very beginning. My objective was to break down the conventions of traditional theatre and unite the audience in a joint spectacle in an immersive way. I wanted to force a reaction from them as I believe a lot of audiences attend theatres submissively and are quite willing sometimes to sit through somethings that are perhaps not enjoyable. I had embarked on developing a piece of theatre that would break the conventions of solo-performance and expose the façade's of the theatrical world, relinquishing sole control and imposing a responsibility on the audience for the success of the piece. My final performance became less of a performance as such and more of a social experiment, in which I wanted to completely break down the 'forth wall' and place some tension on the audience, to synthetically express the emotions of what it is to be a performer and what it is to be a spectator. If the audience did not co-operate with me, then it would lead to them having a less enjoyable experience.......the majority of the performance was in their hands! As this was part of a festival other performances will follow which are non-relating, however still will be interesting to watch.
