The National Olympic Committee of Kenya has announced plans to establish a state-of-the-art High Performance Training Centre at the Kenyatta University. Speaking during the launch of a high-performance training programme for technical directors and coaches at Sports View Hotel, NOCK First Vice President Barnaba Korir said the initiative is part of the committee’s transformative agenda. Korir said Kenya has traditionally dominated in sport but other nations are rapidly catching up, stressing the need for a shift in strategy. He said the country must move away from manual training methods and fully embrace science, technology, and modern sports research to stay competitive. The coaches performance will be evaluated during upcoming major competitions, including the Commonwealth Games and theYouth Olympics.
