Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at an eight LED beacon light. This beacon light features eight LEDs and 15 flash patterns to keep your vehicle visible on the road. It is SAE, J845 class one certified. Now, LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, they burn brighter, and they're more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.
The unit features a black plastic base and it has the three hole mount design, or a three mount hole design. It's really nice. It's easy to mount. It does come with installation hardware, and it comes with a foam gasket. Now, if you look here in the center, this has a threaded area as well, so it can also mount using a one-inch threaded pipe, which is not included.
It's a three-wire design, so red is for power, black wire's for ground, and yellow wire is for flash pattern selection and synchronization. When it comes to the dimensions of the light, starting with the overall diameter here at the base, that gives us a measurement of about 6 5/8 inches. And then the overall height of the unit, that gives us a measurement of about 4 7/8 inches tall. So if I flip it upward like this and measure, you can see that that measures right at the 4 7/8 inch mark, almost five inches tall. Again, it has 15 flash patterns to choose from. You can change the flash pattern momentarily, or excuse me, you can change it by momentarily applying power to the yellow wire.
You apply power once for the next pattern or apply power quickly three times to reset the light. It has eight LEDs or eight diodes. The wattage is 18 watts. Voltage is 12 to 24 volts, and amperage is 1.5 amps. We're gonna go ahead and hook it up to power; that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. And then we'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a lower light setting.
Before I do that, I just wanna go ahead and show you how to switch between the flash patterns. I'm gonna take the yellow wire and momentarily apply power to it. That allows us to change flash patterns. So we have solid, and then we have multiple other flash patterns to select from. I'll turn off the overhead lights and I'll keep cycling through until I get back to the solid. Really nice, bright design. And with it having eight LEDs, we call that having a multi-diode design, or multi-LED design, which really helps optimize the overall light output. And there's light all the way around, 360 degrees. That's gonna do it for today's look at the eight-LED beacon light.
