Hiking the Sarek National Park, North of the Arctic Circle. 4K

Описание: Hiking the Sarek National Park, summer 2020. A hike spanning over 8 days and 121 kilometres through some of the wildest parts of northern Europe. We started by the bridge at Sitoälven at the easternmost edge of the park and finished at Ritsem in the north. The film ends when arriving at the cabin by Akka, provided by the Swedish Tourist Association. We arrived just a few minutes before the last boat trip of the day departed, hence the loss of video material. From there a trip over the lake Akkajaure to the tourist station in Ritsem ended the hike.

Some of the techniques applied to the wading are not the recommended for such activities, though they were at the time necessary to get the whole party to feel comfortable enough to cross at all. This is included in the film to depict that things don't always go exactly as planned in the wilderness, but solutions can still be found. The rest of the times more generally accepted techniques were, of course, applied.

Sarek National Park is part of the protected area of Laponia which is situated north of the Arctic Circle in the northern part of Sweden.
