F# Piano Chord | F Sharp Major 3-note Chord (Triad) and how to do inversions of the chord.
From the chord symbol F# we get this information:
F# is the root note - The basis that gives name to the chord
F# is a 3-note chord - a triad
F# is a major chord
Because F# is a 3-note chord, a triad, it also has three different inversions. An inversion means that once you have found the 3 notes of your chord - it doesn’t matter which note is at the top of the chord, in the middle of the chord - or in the bottom of the chord. As long as you only use the same three notes - it’s still the same chord.
F# Piano Chord - Root inversion (Root note at the bottom of the chord): F# - A# - C#
F# Piano Chord - 1st. inversion (Root note at the top of the chord): A# - C# - F#
F# Piano Chord - 2nd. inversion (Root note in the middle of the chord): C# - F# - A#
F# chord is the first chord of the X Major Scale - Notes in the scale are:
F# - G# - A# - B - C# D# - E# - F#
