Using clear ballistics gel to test Hornady's .357 magnum load of Critical Defense to see how it preforms in a short barrel revolver. It is a 125g bullet that features the FTX flex lock bullet. It has a nickle plated case. The gun used in the test will be a Ruger sp101 in 2.25" barrel. This is a new gun for me and it my first time shooting it. Really looking forward to how this ammo preforms.
The ammo was chronographed using a competition electronics chronograph. I am using 4 layers of denim as per protical in a 16" block that has been calibrated. This block however is reaching the end of it's life and I will be retesting this ammo in the future.
