This is the second video of my progress towards the ultimate interior lighting setup for my car. I added the spectrum analyzer board from SparkFun (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10306) and started playing around with that.
I made a quick-and-dirty equalizer display and showed some of the other things you can use the data for: pulsing the brightness of the LEDs or changing their color. It's a fantastic board because it doesn't need Fourier transforms and is very fast as a result.
LEDs are from http://www.adafruit.com/products/285 (or http://www.adafruit.com/products/346) and the rotary encoder is from http://www.adafruit.com/products/377
