In this video, we walk from our campsite in Nether Wasdale to Buckbarrow fell and Greendale Tarn, returning via Greendale Gill.
Although one of the smaller Lake District fells—at only 430m—Buckbarrow is steep-sided & craggy and provides incredible views down to Wastwater, and across to The Screes, Illgill Head, and Whin Rigg. Certain angles offer great views of the Scafell Massif in the distance, with the iconic flat summit cairn atop Scafell Pike visible in clear weather—the highest point in England.
Greendale Tarn is a beautiful, peaceful location and absolutely worth a visit for a few moments of quiet reflection.
We hope you enjoy the video.
