Trekking To A Remote Canyon On North Table Mountain

Описание: In late February of 2025, we attempted to become the first people to reach the base of Crevice Falls, an unusual waterfall located in a remote corner of the North Table Mountain Ecological Reserve. We arrived late morning and set off where few people have dared to venture.

After some hiking, we reached the mysterious Crevice Falls, then trekked north along the rim of the canyon, getting treated to some spectacular vistas, before making the tough descent into the canyon. We trekked down loose lava rocks and through dense patches of poison oak and blackberry bushes, eventually arriving at a massive basalt field.

Although we failed to reach the base of Crevice Falls, we discovered stunning rock formations, diverse biomes containing interesting flora and fauna and even found remanents from the area's old mining days. We also became the first people to film and photograph, this extremely remote and uncharted corner of Table Mountain. This was truly unlike anything I've seen before and goes to show that Table Mountain isn't just about waterfalls and wildflowers, and that the best adventures can happened in your own backyard!
