【Wind Band Conductor & Instructor: Ryutaro Horie】
Profile:
Conductor, composer/arranger, and wind band educator. Graduated from the Music High School attached to Tokyo University of the Arts, Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig, and the Berlin University of the Arts Graduate School as top of his class. Holds the German State Artist Diploma. Served as full-time lecturer at a German national music school, soloist for the Menuhin Foundation, and member of the Nordhausen Opera. Guest appearances with many orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra and the Gewandhaus Orchestra. Has performed in more than 3,000 concerts worldwide. Currently serves as Music Director of the Tokachi Shimizu Wind Orchestra in Hokkaido. Active as guest conductor, competition judge, school instructor, and private lesson teacher both in Japan and internationally.

Wind Band Teaching Experience:
Has instructed over 100 junior high schools, high schools, and universities across Japan. Provides guidance to wind bands and high schools in Taiwan, and has given individual and group lessons in China and Korea. For remote areas, utilizes online lessons, as well as guest conducting and arranging for ensemble contests. Currently organizes open wind ensemble workshops and the “Wind Band Academy” in various regions across Japan, welcoming participants of all backgrounds.
