This alternative route to Machu Picchu combines jaw-dropping Andean scenery, remote mountain trails, and ancient Incan ruins — all leading to the magical Lost City of the Incas.

Our journey begins in the highlands of Peru, where we hike through stunning landscapes featuring snow-capped peaks, lush cloud forests, glacial lakes, and remote villages. Crossing the Salkantay Pass at over 15,000 feet (4,600 meters), we faced one of the most challenging and rewarding parts of the trail. Along the way, we camped under the stars, encountered local wildlife, and witnessed the raw beauty of the Andes.

To cap it all off, we connected with the final stretch of the Classic Inca Trail, entering Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) at sunrise — a truly bucket-list moment that left us speechless.
