Raising an AC or heat pump does not necessarily improve airflow since the coils are located around the sides of the unit, not underneath. However, in some cases, raising the unit can help prevent grass, leaves, or debris from building up around it. For heat pumps, elevation can also help with winter drainage in colder climates.
