I've noticed musicians around the world postpone record releases in March and April 2020 - when they realized they won't be able to promote/support it with touring.
Not Laura Marling.
Not only she decided to release "Song for Our Daughter", she even pushed it one week ahead of the original schedule. ("I saw no reason to hold back on something that, at the very least, might entertain, and at its best, provide some sense of union" - from her IG).
I've been a fan of hers for years (was lucky to see her preform from the 5th row(!) in 2013 in NYC) but now I love her even more.
This new album is beautiful - its been on repeat here during quarantine/isolation, and she also did an incredible, online live-show at Union Chapel that eased my soul.
She's such a wise, thoughtful, creative soul - many compare her to Joni Mitchell, and I think the comparison is appropriate.
I highly recommend all of her albums!

I did my best to try to keep that mellow, laid-back album-closure vibe, and surprisingly enough, it all happened on the first take.
