Mathematics is a part of all aspects of our lives, from using timetables and getting the right bus, through to following recipes when preparing a meal, to deciding which products to buy in a shop. For some people, using numerical skills can be effortless and almost automatic. However, others may struggle.
Dr Kinga Morysani, cognitive developmental psychologist and member of the UKYA, joins us to share her critical research on dyscalculia – a hidden learning difficulty with numbers – and maths anxiety, the stress and fear that arise when faced with numbers. Discover how these conditions shape the brain and learn practical tools and techniques that can help break down barriers, making maths less daunting and more manageable for everyone.
