There has been a parts shortage for awhile now and the recent batches of W&S steel internals I've procured have some pretty jarring QC and tolerance faults.
The W&S hammer in particular seems to be the worst affected, the slot/channel that allows the firing pin to pass through is not cut correctly in several of these hammers I've bought which seizes up the firing pin. In some cases, the slot is outright too narrow or the flashing from the drill bit passing through the axle hole was not cleaned up. The firing pin itself is not without tolerances issues as the thickness of the pin varies ever so slightly but nowhere nearly as bad as the hammer itself.
Since the Hephaestus standard BCG hasn't had a 2nd production run with no news from them ever confirming if it's stuck in production or export customs, there just doesn't seem to be a future for this platform if there aren't access to reliable steel internals. This would probably the last few GHK AKs I'm ever building given the poor availability of quality internals.
