Mother Etter was born in 1844 in Lisbon, Ohio. After a life filled with much tragedy, she answered the call of God to step into ministry in 1879. She said, “I heard the voice of Jesus calling me to go out in the highways and hedges and gather in the lost sheep.”

In 1885 she received the call of God to preach on divine healing. The power and presence of God began manifesting in ever increasing measures. There are accounts of people being “slain in the spirit” as far away as 50 miles from her meetings.

This great woman of God walked in unprecedented signs and wonders and was truly a forerunner of what the Lord desires to do in our generation. During the Stone Church Revival in Chicago in 1913, Mother Etter gathered with others around the altar and released an amazing prophesy in which she declared, “We are not yet up to the fullness of the Former Rain and that when the Latter Rain comes, it will far exceed anything we have seen!” It has been 100 years since that prophesy and we are starting to see the early stages of that promised outpouring!
