Unlimited Work Rights for Student Visa Holders - (Temporary Arrangement Announced)

Описание: The Australian Government has announced that they have removed the 40 working hours per fortnight cap on student visa holders in Australia. This means international students in Australia will no longer be restricted by how many hours they can work.

In addition to this, student visa holders and any dependents/partners on the student visa can begin working before their course has started.

In further good news for international student visa holders in Aus, if a student visa holder travels to Australia between 19 January to 19 March 2022, they will be eligible for a refund of their visa application charge. Students will be able to apply for a refund up until 31 December 2022. ​​Details of how to apply for a refund will be available shortly.

This is following on from an announcement in May 2021, that international students working in hospitality, tourism and other sectors were no longer restricted with how many hours per week they can work.

The changes are thought to be a result of business groups and industry leaders from the building, construction, hospitality and agriculture sectors putting pressure on the government
