🧥👜Thrift Shop 2nd Street Fashion Japan

Описание: When Japanese 2nd Street Store first opened, those in line for hours were there for the debut drop of bargain luxury goods(treasure?) It sparked my curiosity as I am not a thrift enthusiast and never thrifted while holidaying overseas like Japan, Taiwan or South Korea. Recently, I could better comprehend the lofty ideas behind thrift shop popularity here:

🌍1. Reduces textile waste (billions of garments end up in landfills yearly)

2. Lowers demand for fast fashion (which often involves exploitative labor and heavy resource use)

3. Saves water and energy (manufacturing just one cotton T-shirt can use over 2,700 liters of water)

4. Gives garments a longer life cycle (which honors the craftsmanship and resources behind them)

5. Unique style (vintage or preloved pieces often have character and story that new ones lack)

Despite Japanese usually took better care of stuff, I am still grappling from the residue perspectives of 'energy'(spiritual) and DNA (science) of preloved items (esp clothes bags and shoes of unknown source esp from foreign land). I still prefer to wear new ones 😅
