Описание: Preliminary testing of a 217 gram specimen with Torbernite/Kasolite matrix from the Musoni Mine, Katanga Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo with a Ludlum Measurements, Inc. Model 3 survey meter and Ludlum Model 44-9 alpha/beta/gamma detector. The specimen emits a combination of beta and gamma radiation, and some alpha is likely. The bright green crystals are comprised of Torbernite; intermixed with them are a few small crystals of Kasolite. Specimens like this should be handled and stored with care...they can easily cause contamination (by handling) and also emit harmful radon gas. More detailed studies of this specimen are pending.
