Watch for the city skyline and Lake Michigan. Check out the CTA! Drive under enormous buildings! This video has it all! Our journey begins in Elmhurst Illinois, from the northeast corner of York & Butterfield. I-290 is accessed from Hillside at the Harrison Ramp. (The Eisenhower Expressway, or do you still say The Congress?) It is about fifteen miles from Elmhurst to the heart of Chicago's Loop. I took the Ike all the way in, and then Congress Street to almost the lake. I then followed Lake Shore Drive north to the Fullerton Exit and wound through the side streets until I was heading south and jumped onto Michigan Avenue. Michigan to Wacker, then to State Street. From that corner, it was the Congress to the Ike, and back to Elmhurst. The journey continues north on York and ends just short of the Downtown.
