Duane Eugene Owen (62) is scheduled to be executed on June 15, 2023 for the sexual assaults and murders of 14-year-old Karen Slattery in Delray Beach, Florida while she was baby-sitting at a home, and 38-year-old Georgianna Worden in Boca Raton, Florida while she had been asleep in bed.
UPDATE (THURSDAY, JUNE 15, 2023): Duane Owen was executed this evening by the State of Florida. Official time of death was 6:14PM local time. Owen declined to offer any last words prior to the start of the procedure by saying "No" when asked, therefore offering no apologies to the families of the victims. Owen provided a final written statement that was collected from him at 7:45 in the morning in which he stated: “I have transcended space and time, I have seen the visions of the crow. My energy and particles will transform Ad infinitum, I will live on. I am Tula. 13”. Once again, offering no indication of remorse. A photo of the actual statement appears on my Facebook. — His last meal consisted of a bacon cheeseburger (without the bun), onion rings, strawberries, a vanilla milkshake, and coffee.
