⚠️PSA / Update: After I posted this video, some viewers shared their experiences with the similar HEPA filter (for the inside cabin). A few mentioned reduced airflow when using it compared to the standard OEM filter, and others noted that the charcoal beads can break down over long-term use. In my own case, I haven’t noticed airflow issues yet — but my filters are still fairly new and clean.
If you’re deciding between options, here’s my take:
1. For peace of mind and consistency, Tesla’s OEM cabin filters are a safe choice (the replacement process is the same as shown in the video).
2. If you live in an area with lots of pollen, dust, or allergens and want extra filtration, the HEPA option could still be worth considering — just be aware of the trade-offs others have experienced.
