They tried to pull the body out, but it wouldn’t move. When they went closer to check, they realized the woman was not alone. She had clutched her 4-year-old son so tightly to her chest that even death could not separate them. They were both tied together in a single life jacket — mother and son, bound to each other.This image has now reached the entire country. It has come from Jabalpur district in Madhya Pradesh, from the Bargi Dam. On the evening of 30th April, a tourist cruise boat capsized here. So far, the deaths of 9 people have been confirmed. 22 people have been rescued, and many others are still missing.But the most heartbreaking part of this entire incident is the family that had come from Delhi for a vacation. It was a family of four — mother, father, son, and daughter. The father and daughter survived. The mother and her 4-year-old son could not be saved. And when their bodies were finally brought out, they were still in the same position in which they had drowned. The mother was holding her son tightly to her chest, with a single life jacket tied around both of them.
