Shortly before Christmas (2018), we took a trip to Syracuse to meet up with family from Ohio and enjoy the world- (okay, state-?) renowned "Lights on the Lake" display at nearby Onondaga Lake. It made for an interesting medium range adventure (620 miles round trip from Boston but with an overnight stay), the first half of which is covered by this video.
The journey highlights both sides of the EV road trip experience, with plenty of charging options and very little disruption throughout Massachusetts and New York's Capital Region. Things require much more planning after Albany, NY where an extended stretch of the NY Thruway qualifies as a "DC Fast Charge Desert" at the time of recording.
Enjoy the full journey or skip ahead via the time markers below to see if we made it!
