HOW TO KNIT SOCKS 🧦| Part 1: Cuff-down Cuffs and Toe-up Toes

Socks can be knit from the cuff down to the toe and vice versa, so we're going to learn both ways.

In Part 1, we're learning cuffs for cuff-down socks and toes for toe-up toes. (Skip to toe-up toes at 10:12)
Part 2 will drop in TWO weeks (Saturday, June 15)

PREP
Are YOU ready to learn to knit socks?
You need to be able to knit, purl, and work in the round.
Knowing basic increases and decreases is helpful, but not essential—additional tutorials will be linked.

MATERIALS
What do you need?
Sock (fingering weight) yarn and a set of 4 double-pointed needles or 2 circular needles or 1 long circular needle in size US 1-2

I am demonstrating knitting on 2 circular needles and using the magic loop technique.

SIZE
Your sock stitch count will depend on the yarn you use, your needle size, and your gauge.
For reference, I wear a US size 7.5 shoe; on a US 1.5 needle, I do a 60-stitch sock, and on a US 2, a 56-stitch sock. I am an average to tight knitter.
